Douglas County Firearms would like to invite you to our Defensive Carbine course at our firearm shop in Castle Rock, Colorado. The course has a duration of 8 hours and is for everyone that would like to participate. Participants must be at least 18 years of age. It has a fee of $200 and below you can find all the information necessary:
Course Overview
This firearm course in Colorado takes participants from an introduction to carbines through application exercises. Designed for new shooters and advanced. The course will take you from a detailed look at the purpose of a carbine, to the real world benefits and applications. Practical and tactical exercises are included in this 8-hour course:
Things To Learn
- Proper sighting skills
- Ready positions
- Shooting positions
- Proper loading/unloading
- Malfunction clearance
- Tactical loading
- Defensive applications of the carbine
This class will focus on the basic setup and operation of your AR15 style carbine. To include proper stance, sight acquisition, sight picture, malfunctions, useful accessories, and operation.
Day 1:
– 8 Fundamentals of Rifle Marksmanship
– Load; Unload; Clear
– Single shot slow fire
– Controlled pairs
Day 2:
– Up drills
– Different shooting positions
– Reloads (Tactical & Emergency)
– Sling use
Held over two consecutive days from 7am to 9:30am
Required Materials
- Mil-spec or better carbine w/optics or open sights
- 3 magazines
- Gear to hold magazines
- -Rifle sling
- 200+ rounds of ammunition
- Eye and ear protection
- Tactical knee pads (recommended)
