FIREARM TRANSFERS
Private Party Transfer
- A valid driver's license or identification card for both parties, including your current address. If your address has changed recently, you will need another government document reflecting your current address.
- Proof of residence or a valid Colorado driver's license or identification card is required to receive all firearms other than a rifle or pistol. You must be an in-state resident to purchase or receive a firearm other than a shotgun or rifle.
- Complete the DCF Guns Private Party Bill of Sales form. Each recipient will receive a copy of this document for your records.
- The recipient will complete a background check and pay the $12.50 Colorado Bureau of Investigations fee.
- Upon completing the background check, a $50 transfer fee will be charged to complete the transfer. (Ask us how you can get free transfers at DCF Guns with membership.)
Out-of-State Transfer
- Please email transfer@dcfguns.com with the sender's information so we can send them our Federal Firearms License and contact information.
- DCF will contact you within 24 hours after your firearm arrives to inform you when it will be picked up. Once it has been delivered, it can take us up to 24 hours to process the firearm.
